Valentine’s Day
While you’re cuddling on the couch with your loved one, soaking in the warmth of your home and the heat radiating from the one next to you; Remember the ones who don’t have a home, who don’t have heat, who don’t have someone to curl into for warmth. Pray for those people. Go love on one of those people. No matter what they might be wearing, no matter what they may smell like. A nod, a wave, a smile, a handshake, a hug.. the simplest of gestures can turn someone’s crappy day into the best day of their life.
Today isn’t just a day for the people closest to you. Today is a day to show affection, without holding back. Whether you know that person well or not. It’s not about about how many dozens of roses you acquire, how many heart-shaped boxes of assorted candies you’re given. Keep that in mind.
And to those of you whining because you are “alone”, there is a big difference between being alone and being lonely. Get off your butt, get out of your house and go show a stranger a random act of kindness. It’s not about who you spend it with, affection is the key. You have the power to make the best of your life. You have no idea how helping someone else can make you feel so amazing. I encourage you to give it a shot.
